Huawei Launched 2nd-Gen All-SSD System: OceanStor Dorado2100 G2

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. launched its 2nd-generation solid state storage system – OceanStor Dorado2100 G2.

As an important product in Huawei’s solid state storage strategy, it employs a mature and reliable all-SSD storage architecture, meeting mission-critical services’ needs for high performance.

OceanStor Dorado2100 G2 is a demonstration of Huawei’s long-term research and accumulation in the solid state storage field. Its performance is three times that of the 1st-generation Dorado2100. OceanStor Dorado2100 G2 is a fast all-SSD storage systems, meeting demanding performance requirements of latency-sensitive services such as large databases, VDIs, and HPC.

Dorado series solid state storage systems provide performance but also have adaptability to application environments. Besides the VMware ESXi 5.1/5.0 certification, Dorado series have obtained the SAP storage certification. This enables customers to apply Dorado series to infrastructure virtualization and core database applications.

OceanStor Dorado2100 G2 also features enhanced applicability and functionality. It provides 8Gbit/s FC ports, 10Gbit/s iSCSI ports, and 40Gbit/s IB QDR ports to support various networking modes. Thin provisioning, a new function provided by OceanStor Dorado2100 G2, allocates the capacity on demand throughout service development phases, further improving ROI.

The system helps data centers handle internal data interactions more quickly, meeting applications’ needs for low access latency and maximizing the overall efficiency. The active-active dual-controller architecture, together with the redundancy and hot-swap design implemented for all key components, enables OceanStor Dorado2100 G2 to provide data protection, preventing a single point of failure and achieving MTBF of a million-hour level to ensures BC.

OceanStor Dorado2100 G2 is a high-performance storage system with scalability. Based on high-speed cache management and I/O scheduling algorithms, it provides quick response capabilities in complicated computing environments.
