Including EqualLogic arrays
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 18, 2012 at 2:55 pmDell, Inc. released a case study with
Lunacloud, featuring the use of Dell technology on Lunacloud’s Cloud Server and
Cloud Storage public cloud services.
Lunacloud is an European cloud
services provider that delivers elastic and low-cost cloud infrastructure
services for running applications and storing data, competing with
rivals such as Amazon AWS and Rackspace.
Aiming to provide better price, performance
and flexibility, Lunacloud relied on Dell servers, storage and networking
technology, on which it developed is virtualization, automation and simple
user-interface layer, to provide competitive cloud infrastructure services,
such as Cloud Servers (compute capacity from less than €0.02 per hour) and
Cloud Storage (unlimited virtual disk for €0.07 per GB per month).
After almost one year of development,
building on the 18 years experience of its founders in the Internet and hosting markets, Lunacloud announced its services to the public last June and
is now going through a period of growth in the customer base as well as
geographical expansion to new markets.
Although its cloud services can be
acquired online anywhere in the world, Lunacloud currently has operations in
the UK and Portugal and will be expanding to France, Spain, France and Germany,
in the first quarter of 2013. By providing geographical diversity for customers
to locate their servers and data as well as local technical support teams,
Lunacloud focuses on delivering a service that is more tailored to tech
start-ups, SMEs and developers in each local market.
