This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 11, 2012 at 3:10 pmViolin Memory, Inc. welcomed Richard Dyke as SVP of North American sales.
He joins Violin from Riverbed where he championed WW sales for the company’s cloud storage business unit.
At Violin, he will drive the continued business momentum for flash-based enterprise storage and accelerate sales with the customer base.
"The datacenter of tomorrow will be much leaner and efficient than what you see today," said Dyke. "Violin delivers a clear business value to CIOs at Fortune 1000 companies. The legacy storage market is primed for a shakeup and I plan to play a significant part in that disruption."
Dyke spent 15 years in sales and sales management at EMC Corporation where he held the position of western regional VP, driving over $500 million in annual sales. He also held executive roles at StorageNetworks, Inc., Stentor, Inc. and Radisphere. At Stentor, Dyke led all of sales and sales operations. The company was acquired by Philips Healthcare Informatics and he was appointed global VP of sales, responsible for WW sales of the product lines.
"Dyke’s high-growth business acceleration experience in the cloud and storage industry is an invaluable asset for Violin. The demand for Flash Memory Arrays continues to increase as Fortune 1000 companies realize the business opportunities lost due to the inherent limitations of disk-based storage systems," said Donald Basile, CEO of Violin Memory.
