HDS and Infosys Working Together

To help customers accelerate private cloud deployments

Hitachi Data
Systems Corporation
it is working with its longtime partner Infosys Limited, a specialist in
consulting and technology, to help customers accelerate private cloud
deployments.

The deployments are based on the Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP) Select
for Exchange Server 2010. Customers can also leverage the converged
infrastructure of storage, servers and networking provided in Hitachi UCP
solutions to run SharePoint applications.

The Hitachi UCP family of solutions simplifies private cloud deployments by
providing converged infrastructure solutions that are pre-validated for workloads.
HDS and Infosys will develop joint architectures, technical training and
certification programs. The two companies will also conduct collaborative sales
and marketing activities worldwide. These activities will enable them to provide their customers with enterprise cloud solutions that enable faster cloud deployments with
less risk.

The latest converged infrastructure
solutions from HDS bring predictable performance and scalability to
customers who want to adopt private clouds. The solutions also ensure up to
99.999% availability of applications and services. Leveraging the Hitachi
converged infrastructure for Exchange and SharePoint, HDS and Infosys are able
to offer in-premise cloud and third-party data center hosting with massive
scalability – up to 96,000 mailboxes – and HA through Mailbox Availability
Group (DAG), N+1 server failover and enterprise-class RAID protection.

"HDS
and Infosys have a long history of collaboration. We are pleased to take our
relationship to the next level by delivering the latest HDS converged
infrastructure solutions to help our mutual customers around the world to
deploy enterprise-class private clouds that reduce complexity and management
costs,
" said Bruce Chumley, VP, WW channel and alliance sales, HDS.
"As organizations continue to look
for ways to simplify cloud adoption without assuming any added risk, HDS and
Infosys will provide the solutions and services that are essential to helping
these customers continue to transform their data centers.
"

"Our
customers are looking for new and innovative storage solutions to help them
address complex, fragmented cloud environments,
" said Vishnu Bhat, VP
and global head of cloud, Infosys. "Infosys
can help accelerate time-to-market of cloud services by up to 40%, improve
productivity by up to 20% and achieve cost savings of up to 30%, and the
Hitachi Unified Compute Platform solution family lets us expand these benefits
and reduce IT complexities even further.
"

HDS and Infosys have been working together as
partners for more than a decade and are now also collaborating to provide:

  • Solution Development: Architect and
create converged solutions for cloud environments, including Microsoft Lync,
Exchange, SharePoint, and Cisco UCS migrations. HDS and Infosys plan to broaden
the converged solutions offering to include solutions for big data and content
    management in the future.
  • Training and Certification Programs:
Offer new training and technology certification programs for HDS storage technology.
  • Joint Sales Enablement: Serve a  range of enterprise customers with storage and IT
solutions through joint sales and marketing programs.

Through its global partnership, HDS also
supports the Infosys Cloud Ecosystem Hub. Announced in August 2012, it provides solutions that enable enterprises to create, adopt
and govern cloud services across multiple environments.
