ManageEngine Adds Storage Monitoring
To IT360 integrated IT management solution
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 10, 2012 at 3:13 pmManageEngine, a trademark of Zoho Corp. and a real-time IT management company, announced support for storage monitoring in IT360, its integrated IT management solution.
The move continues the IT360 push into the DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) arena with a unified dashboard and pre-integrated, out-of-the-box support for multi-vendor storage solutions.
The latest version of IT360 is available for download.
ManageEngine was highlighting the new IT360 features at the Gartner Data Center Conference in Las Vegas, December 3-6, 2012.
DCIM is a hot topic thanks to the rise in private cloud computing fueling data center growth. The private cloud and data center activity, however, has yet to spark corresponding advances in DCIM software. Simply put, discrete DCIM point solutions can’t provide the unified, real-time views needed to optimize the management of data center infrastructures. Companies that do want a single management console must integrate point solutions after the fact, on their own or via professional services engagement. IT360 creates a single console – out-of-the-box with no additional efforts – to give DCIM teams a unified, real-time view of their entire IT infrastructure assets.
"The DCIM market is ripe for a holistic solution that provides real-time IT visibility," said Sridhar Iyengar, VP of product management, ManageEngine. "We saw a lot of demand from our customers for in-depth monitoring of storage solutions, which are important components in data centers. With IT360, teams inside and outside the data center can monitor and manage their heterogeneous storage environments – and the rest of their IT infrastructure – from a single console."
Storage Monitoring with IT360
The latest version of IT360 supports multi-vendor SAN and NAS solutions for storage devices such as storage arrays, fabric switches, tape libraries, host servers and HBAs.

IT360 can now perform auto-discovery of storage devices from multiple vendors based on SNMP, CLI, SNIA SMI-S and vendor-specific algorithms. It can discover storage devices such as RAIDs, tape libraries, tape drives, FC switches, HBAs and host servers. The latest release of IT360 also allows customers to perform fault management activities by capturing sensor faults such as power supply, temperature, fan, battery and status change notifications from IT360’s unified console.
ManageEngine has previously made DCIM inroads with IT360’s integrated, ITIL-ready service management module for asset management. That module’s CMDB maintains a centralized database of all IT assets inside and outside the data center, so organizations can have a central, single-console repository of their assets to make decisions.
In addition, IT360 monitors all other network and application-based data center infrastructure including virtualized environment and cloud-based applications. The end-user monitoring module has helped customers to monitor and enhance their user’s application experience.
"Today, we are managing many customers’ infrastructure using IT360," says Larry Dutton, product manager at Redstone plc, the UK IT and network services company and an IT360 customer since 2010. "We are experts in IT, and customers expect us to bring innovation and best practices proactively to them. With ManageEngine, we have brought them a system that is relevant to their business requirements now and in the future."
