IBM Intelligent Cluster Portfolio Expands

Intelligent Cluster solutions deliver performance with energy and space efficiencies. These solutions can help simplify and expedite deployment of a Linux or Windows HPC cluster.

IBM Corp. combines all hardware, software, services, and support into a single integrated product offering, providing the benefit of a single point of contact for the entire cluster and eliminating the need to deal with multiple vendors for individual components.

It is a choice for organizations that recognizes the economic advantages of a reduced time to deployment of an HPC cluster but has concerns about the time and technical resources required for the end-to-end implementation.

New offerings for Intelligent Cluster portfolio:

Mellanox SX6518 324 Port FDR IB Switch (0724-030): The switch system provides a fabric solution in a 16U form factor by delivering 36.3Tb/s of non-blocking bandwidth with 170ns to 510ns port latency with up to 56Gb/s full bi-directional bandwidth per port.
Brocade ICX 6610 Switch (0563-042 and -043): It delivers wire-speed, non-blocking performance across all ports to support latency-sensitive applications such as real-time voice and video streaming and VDI. ICX 6610 Switches can be stacked using four full-duplex 40GBps stacking ports that provide 320GBps of backplane stacking bandwidth with full redundancy, eliminating inter-switch bottlenecks. Additionally, each switch can provide up to eight 10GbE ports for high-speed connectivity to the aggregation or core layers.
LSI SAS 9201-16e HCA 16 Port SAS Switch (00Y3535): It is a 16-port 6Gb/s PCIe HBA. It is a full height adapter with four external mini-SAS connectors.
LSI SAS 9206-16e HCA 16 Port SAS Switch (00Y3539): It’s is a quad-port PCIe 3.0 HBA providing 16 lanes of 6Gb/s SAS data transfer rates. It has four external HD mini-SAS connectors.
NetApp DE6600 SAS Disk Controller JBOD (0796-011, -012, -013, and -014): This 4U disk enclosure is available only as a component of a hardware GPFS solution released by Intelligent Clusters and sold only as part of the solution, not stand alone.
