IBM BladeCenter S SAS RAID Controller Module Integrates SAS Switching

The BladeCenter S SAS RAID Controller Module from IBM Corp. integrates SAS switching and RAID controller function in a legacy switch form factor, and includes the following features:

• Redundant configuration (dual RAID controller, dual-switch and dual-battery backup) to help support HA RAID 0, 1, 10, and 5
• Support for two Disk Storage Modules (DSMs) with up to 12 x 3.5-inch SAS drives and NL SAS drives
• SAS boot and shared storage in IBM BladeCenter S Chassis
• Support for six local processor blades in IBM BladeCenter S Chassis
• Two internal 4X SAS 3.0 Gbps to two DSM systems; six internal 1X SAS 3.0 Gbps host connectivity to six blade slots
• Customer hot-swappable components

The BladeCenter RAID Battery Backup Module and BladeCenter S SAS RAID Controller Module Battery provide reserve power for the Controller Module.

BladeCenter RAID Battery Backup Module

The BladeCenter S SAS RAID Controller Module provides an integrated shared storage solution in an BladeCenter S Chassis.

The BladeCenter RAID Battery Backup Module can provide enough reserve
power to store data in your IBM BladeCenter S SAS RAID Controller Module
memory cache for up to 72 hours in the event of an interruption of
power.

The BladeCenter S SAS RAID Controller Module Battery option provides a
battery replacement for the BladeCenter RAID Battery Backup Module.
