AT&T Synaptic SaaS Receive Authority to Operate From GSA

For cloud storage service aimed at federal agencies

AT&T
Government
Solutions
has received an Authority to Operate (ATO) for AT&T
Synaptic
SaaS
from the U.S. General Services Administration.

The ATO allows the
company to offer cloud storage services to federal agencies through
the GSA IaaS Blanket Purchase Agreement.

AT&T Synaptic
SaaS allows federal agencies to store, distribute, and retrieve data
on-demand. Similar to enterprise customers, federal agencies will be
able to scale and specify their storage needs through a Web-based
customer portal.

"With
its ‘Cloud First’ policy, the Obama administration signaled its
strong support for the cloud and the powerful benefits this platform
provides federal agencies,
"
said Thomas Harvey, SVP, AT&T Government Solutions. "We
believe AT&T Synaptic Storage as a Service and AT&T’s
‘on-network cloud’ approach will provide agencies a secure,
cost-effective way to innovate and reduce capital expenses as they
move data and applications to the cloud, delivering efficient
government services to citizens.
"

Security remains a
principal factor as agencies look to cloud solutions. The Synaptic
SaaS supports moderate level security controls under the Federal
Information Security Management Act.

The
solution will be available to provide cloud services to federal
agencies at AT&T Internet Data Centers in the continental US.

AT&T Government Solutions is a business unit within AT&T Corp., an affiliate of AT&T Inc. AT&T products and services are provided or offered by subsidiaries and affiliates of AT&T Inc. under the AT&T brand and not by AT&T Inc.
