With 24 SSDs or HDDs in two removable magazines
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 30, 2012 at 2:28 pmBased in Orange, CA, Phoenix International Systems, Inc., providing rugged and reliable COTS data storage solutions, announced the mission oriented RPC24 high performance FC RAID subsystem that was introduced at MILCOM 2012.
Featuring a capacity of twenty four drives, the fast RPC24 includes two removable magazines containing up to twelve solid state disk or HDDs, each housed in rugged 2U (3.5") panel height, 19.5" deep enclosure. It provides up to eight host ports of 8Gb FC (followed soon by 6Gb SAS and 10GigE iSCSI) to SAS or SATA devices over a 12Gb SAS internal bus.
The design of the RPC24’s rugged, cableless, backplane-based, 2U chassis provides an environmental operational envelope (-20° to +70° C, 45,000 ft altitude with SSDs), redundant, hot-swap components and storage capacity, while assuring the data availability.
Incorporating aluminum and steel in its rugged construction, the RPC24 weighs 51 lbs with 24 SSDs, is less than 20" deep and is certified to military specifications MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-461E.
