CloudFounders Chosen by MSP MEOS Systeembeheer in Amsterdam

To deliver private cloud and VDI desktops, 40% less cost than VMware

CloudFounders, a
developer of private cloud software for IT-as-a-Service solutions, announced
the first MSP has adopted its CloudFrames software to deliver private cloud
services to SMBs.

"Virtualisation
technology is great for improving servers and storage utilisation, but it’s not
designed for service providers keen to deliver cost effective, multi-tenanted
private clouds,
" explains CloudFounders CTO Kurt Glazemakers, "MSPs need to dramatically reduce complexity,
CAPEX and scale-out to meet customer demand – our Cloud framework technology is
designed to meet these criteria.
"

CloudFrames is a software platform that
converts commodity x86 hardware into a multi-function, reliable and performance private cloud.

It is an integrated solution built over six years of engineering that
combines control, policy and storage technologies to provide an integrated
point and click deployment and management experience.

Amsterdam-based MEOS
Systeembeheer
, a MSP specialising in meeting the needs of SMBs, has
utilised CloudFrames to deliver its MEOS managed workplace and private cloud
service.

Martijn Berns, CEO for MEOS explains:
"We looked carefully at creating a
cloud service using VMware and the economics did not meet our aim to offer a
lower cost and high quality alternative to existing on-premise solutions.
"

MEOS uses CloudFrames to host local private cloud solutions for
customers across the Netherlands, including virtualised Windows servers,
applications and desktops delivered using VDI technology. These service
solutions also include managed IT services, SLA’s complete with IT Helpdesk and
support with a per user, per month cost model.

"With CloudFrames, we can
use standard hardware with enterprise class reliability to deliver a comparable
and extremely flexible Cloud service at roughly 40% less than anything we could
have built on VMware,
" Berns adds. "Using CloudFrames we deliver best of two worlds, combining the
advantages of cloud and on-premise solutions.
"

Following three years of development, CloudFounders shipped its
first true private cloud-in-a-box software in 2010 under an OEM agreement. This
OEM product has been adopted by over 2,000 customers worldwide. As of August 2012, the
technology is available under CloudFounders’ own brand, CloudFrames, to MSPs
and enterprise customers WW.

CloudFrames software has been certified on hardware from Dell, HP, IBM and
several other vendors as well as VMware, Hyper-V, Xen and VirtualBox
virtualisation platforms.

CloudFrames is an integrated solution
that combines:

  • Cloud automation and management engine for server, network and storage
    virtualization
  • Scale out, redundant SAN with performance at 20,000 IOPS per box
  • 15 minute snapshots zero copy cloning and replication
  • Built in continuous backup and DR
  • Flexible deployment options – either at the customer office or a data center
  • Uses commodity x86 hardware
