And David Ochser channel chief for the Americas
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 17, 2012 at 3:12 pmDataCore Software Corp. appointed two sales leaders from the virtualization industry to head up its expanding Americas sales organization.
Melody Brown
takes the helm as VP of Americas Sales, which encompasses the U.S.,
Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean. She has worked with VMware and
Oracle in developing partner sales programs as founder and managing
principal of Peak Consulting. She also led the turnaround of Lexmark International‘s U.S. channel business. In her position as VP of Digital Marketing and Inside Sales for Safeco Insurance, she steered the shift to a partner-centric model.
David Ochser, formerly director, Worldwide Partner Enablement for VMware, and VP of Business Development for Avnet Technology Solutions
becomes DataCore’s Channel Chief for the Americas. Along with the
virtualization sector, Ochser is also familiar with the complementary
flash memory and SSD field, having served as sales manager for Astute Networks.
"Melody and Dave bring the specialized expertise necessary to tap the lucrative opportunity in front of us," said Steve Houck, COO, DataCore Software. "They
have helped propel the rapid rise of the server virtualization and
solid state storage segments, coaching sales teams, orchestrating
distribution channels and broadening the reach of resellers. The market
conditions under which they excel mirror the phenomenal momentum we’re
experiencing at DataCore today. This includes an intense demand for
software-defined storage infrastructures underpinning the top four major
IT initiatives: virtualization/consolidation of business-critical
tier-1 apps, cloud computing, big data, and incorporating technologies
like flash memory and SSD in dynamically-balanced storage pools."
Priorities
for the new sales leaders include channel expansion, partner enablement
and closer alignment with the go-to-market motions of the adjacent
software and hardware suppliers critical to data centers and hosted
service providers. Their instincts for building relationships throughout
the virtualization and storage community will be put to use in enabling
customers and partners to maximize the performance, availability and
utilization of their IT environments.
