Powered in AC mode the J2 will be able to achieve 750MB/s in a device the size of a smartphone.  Pegasus J2 brings performance in a small form factor to the market enabling both consumers and media professionals to manage the explosion of unstructured data and digital assets.

To achieve maximum throughput of over 750MB/s requires using the Pegasus J2 power adapter plugged into a power outlet.

Compatible with Thunderbolt enabled Macs, the Pegasus J2 is a pocket-sized, fast external storage device that offers up to half a terabyte of storage and is available in 256GB and 512GB capacities. It is flash-based making it the solution for anyone who craves performance in the consumer and professional post-production markets.

This addition to its Pegasus line boasts a compact product design with an emphasis on reducing the footprint coupled with reduced environmental noise. The J2 is the complement for MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

"We are very excited to deliver this new expansion peripheral that helps continue our leadership of Thunderbolt enabled storage devices," said James Lee, CEO, PROMISE. "The new Pegasus J2 brings unprecedented performance and flexibility to consumers and creative media professionals seeking a high-performance video storage solution. Designed for extreme speed and portability, these products provide a dynamic expansion of our award winning Pegasus family of high-performance storage solutions developed for the rich media markets."

Pegasus J2 JBOD expansion units are available for order from the Apple Online Store at $1,499 for 512GB and through the PROMISE global network of distributors and VARs.
