Jonathan Kissane Chief Strategy Officer and SVP, NetApp
And Jay Kidd promoted CTO and SVP

Kissane and Kidd will play critical roles in defining and operationalizing the business and technology vision as the company capitalizes on current technology and business trends and positions itself for its next phase of growth.

In his role as chief strategy officer and SVP, Kissane will lead all NetApp corporate development initiatives, including oversight of acquisitions and equity investments, the identification and evaluation of opportunities for technology collaboration, and targeted strategic relationships. He will report to Tom Georgens, president and CEO. He joins NetApp from CA Technologies where as SVP, corporate development, he identified opportunities to improve the company’s competitive position and portfolio of IT management solutions.
Kissane holds an MBA from INSEAD and a JD from Harvard Law School. His dual undergraduate degrees are in history and engineering from Stanford.
In his role as CTO and SVP, Kidd will shape NetApp’s technology vision as the storage and data management industry is transformed by the impact of virtualization, flash, big data, and the cloud. He will report to Manish Goel, EVP, Product Operations. Prior to his appointment as CTO, he led product strategy and development for NetApp’s data management and management products. He was integral to the team for Data ONTAP, and the storage clustering capabilities that are the linchpin of an agile data infrastructure. Before joining NetApp, Kidd was CTO and VP of product management at Brocade.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Princeton.
