SSD-based product to accelerate database

Winchester Systems, Inc., a provider of
data storage and server products, announced that its FlashDisk Database Accelerator
has achieved VMware Ready status.

This designation indicates that after a detailed validation process that the
new FlashDisk Database Accelerator (DA-2328R) has achieved VMware’s highest
level of endorsement, and can be found on the VMware
Solution Exchange
(VSX).

The DA-2300 FlashDisk Database Accelerator, a purpose-built
SSD-based product from Winchester Systems is designed to speed database and
other random access applications. The unit clocks in (with 4KB block size) at
73,000 sustained random IOPS, 213,000 sustained sequential IOPS with bursts
from cache over 500,000 IOPS. The product speeds up database applications such
as Oracle, SQL server, SAP and MySQL by 2x to 25x.

By using FlashDisk Database Accelerator with VMware vSphere Version 4
or 5, enterprises can deploy many more virtual servers and support superior
end-user service levels.
