EliteSTOR and EliteRAID Rackmount Enclosures by Sans Digital

Sans Digital Inc. is releasing a line of compact rack mountable enclosures specially designed to house 2.5-inch SATA, SAS, and SSD hard drives.

Based on the EliteSTOR and EliteRAID product line, the 2.5-inch hard
drive enclosure solution features two options to connect your host
computer, SAS or iSCSI. These connections allow for a more reliable and
performing solution for users looking holding 8, 16, or 24, 2.5-inch
SATA, SAS, or SSD hard drives on a DAS.

The EliteSTOR ES108X+B, ES108X6+B, ES216X6+B, and ES224X6+B
are SAS JBOD rackmounts for high capacity storage solution built for
2.5-inch hard drive form factor. Utilizing the SAS and 6G SAS expander
technology (6G SAS Expander available on the ES108X6+B, ES216X6+B, and
ES224X6+B models only) provides up to 24 Gb/s or 2400MB/s of bandwidth
to fulfill the demanding applications (performance varies depending on
model and amount of hard drives used).

They supports 2.5" SATA, SAS 6Gbps, or SSD and is backward compatible to
3Gbps SAS, SATA, and SSD hard drives. All models support the SAS
technology which enables the user to use multiple 2.5-inch SAS, SATA,
SSD drives using only one mini-SAS cable. All hardware comes standard
including mini-SAS cable, hard drives tray modules and built-in mounting
rail. The enclosures is a storage expansion solution for servers or
high performance video editing workstations.

The EliteSTOR 1U, 8-bays, JBODs consist of ES108X+B (SAS/SATA to 2 *
mini-SAS), ES108X6+B (SAS/ SATA to SAS expansion) which gives the
customer the choice of non-expandable or expandable SAS connections for
their SAS or SATA 2.5-inch hard drives.

For the larger capacity EliteSTOR 2U 16-bay JBOD consist of the
ES216X6+B SAS/SATA to SAS Expander and the 2U 24-bay ES224X6+B SAS/SATA
to SAS Expander.

Both JBOD enclosures come standard with SAS expansion capabilities which
enable the user to daisy chain multiple units providing a way to expand
data capacity.

For users looking for an iSCSI solution for their 2.5-SATA, SAS, or SSD
hard drives, Sans Digital is bringing to the storage market the
EliteRAID 1U, 8-bays ER108I+B (SATA to 2 * Gigabit Ethernet, iSCSI) and the 2U, 16-bay, ER216I+B (SATA to 4 * Gigabit Ethernet, iSCSI) both features a built-in RAID controller and multiple Gigabit Ethernet ports.

The ER108I+B is a dual channel iSCSI storage while the ER216I+B is a
quad channel iSCSI storage that supports advanced features, such as
Multiple Channel per Session (MC/S), iSCSI jumbo frame and Microsoft
MPIO. SCSI-3 persistent target is supported for clustering server
application. Built-in Web GUI management interface and event
notification E-mail, SNMP trap, browser pop-up Windows, syslog and
Windows Messenger allow administrator to monitor the status with ease.
Beside RAID-5, mirroring (RAID-1) and striping (RAID-0), ER108I+B and
the ER216I+B both supports RAID-6 to protect against up to 2 hard drive
failures or defects. Utilizing SATA, SAS, or SSD as the host interfaces,
and ER108I+B dual GbE port (up to 190MB/s) and ER216I+B quad GbE ports
(up to 390MB/s), are guaranteed to achieve performance with fail-safe
file protection.
