Production Company ILF Media Receives “4x Speed” Increase
After installing Small Tree Titanium16 48TB shared storage system
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 2, 2012 at 2:59 pmFounded in 2000 by a visionary cinematographer, a crackerjack editor and computer programmer with wicked 3D animation skills, ILF Media is a full-service, production company located in Spokane, WA.
ILF recently installed a GraniteSTOR TITANIUM16 Ethernet-based shared storage solution from Small Tree Communications, LLC to ensure that its team of video editors is able to work without delays or interruptions.
From TV ads to training videos and long-form corporate videos, ILF has become a go-to production house for local and national clients looking to optimize their brand recognition with inventive, thought-provoking and memorable advertising. With the installation of a 48TB TITANIUM16 system connected to four Mac workstations across 10GbE, the company’s editing team no longer has to worry about drive failures or the precious time wasted on recovering projects.
"Since installing Small Tree’s TITANIUM16, we’ve seen a 4x speed increase in content delivery to our editors," said Daro Walker, partner and IT director at ILF Media. "On top of that, the reliability has been excellent – making concerns about dropped frames in the middle of a project a thing of the past. Most of our editors are running two to three streams and none have had a hiccup. It’s really rock solid."
TITANIUM is a performance, capacity dense, dedicated video editing shared storage appliance with file sharing capabilities enabling simple, real-time collaboration. It is a 3U rack-mount solution configurable up to 20 GbE or 12 10GbE ports and storage capacity from 32TB to 320TB, while delivering up to 72 streams of ProRes 422.
Thrilled with the performance results of the TITANIUM16, Walker and ILF are already looking to add on to the system as the shared storage solution offers scalability.
"We’re already talking to the phenomenal support team at Small Tree about adding another 64TB to our system," Walker continued. "Great customer service is always appreciated, but Small Tree has gone above and beyond to help us out – going into each workstation and optimizing them so that they are running as fast as they can."
