Taneja Group Validates StorTrends DR Capabilities
Dual controller iSCSI SAN from American Megatrends
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 27, 2012 at 3:03 pmRecent findings from storage industry analysts at the Taneja Group suggest that StorTrends from American Megatrends, Inc. (AMI) offers one of the best value DR solutions for the mid-market.
These findings come on the heels of Taneja’s recent technology validation of AMI’s StorTrends 3400i Dual Controller iSCSI SAN. The validation was conducted by senior Taneja storage analyst Jeff Boles – a storage industry veteran with over 20 years of data center experience.
He has summarized the results of the validation in a document now available on the StorTrends and Taneja websites.
In the document, Boles highlights:
- The StorTrends 3400i’s rich suite of replication features, most notably HA mirroring of volumes across systems or controllers and both synchronous and asynchronous replication
- StorTrends unique Snapshot-Assisted Replication (SAR) feature that uses a point-in-time snapshot to identify a replication point – only data from point is replicated
- StorTrends WAN optimization through Wide Area Data Services (WDS) – a capability that reduces transmit data through de-duplication and compression for fast and encrypted transport
- The intuitive, easy-to-use StorTrends ManageTrends software GUI
Boles notes that "we are hard pressed to identify any other storage system with similar levels of single system scalability and performance that also come fully enabled for such a broad range of HA and multi-site DR capability without additional cost, nor with similar ease of use and simplicity".
Thousands of StorTrends SAN and NAS storage appliances are installed worldwide by companies and institutions in industries such as education, energy, finance, state and local government, healthcare, manufacturing, marketing, retail, research and technology;
StorTrends offers unified storage, simplified management, BC, DR, storage efficiency and virtualization.
