Unitrends Supports Windows Server 2012

Unitrends Inc. announced support for Windows Server 2012.

This latest release puts Microsoft’s virtualization offering in much closer parity to VMware. With Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V, Microsoft offers customers manageability, scalability, ease-of-deployment and TCO.

With the release of Enterprise Backup earlier this year, the software-only version of the company’s Recovery Series physical appliances, Unitrends now offers a native all-in-one Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V role and Hyper-V 2012 Server backup, archiving, instant recovery and DR virtual appliance.

A free Unitrends Enterprise Backup NFR (Not For Resale) program for Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals and Microsoft Certified Professionals was also announced earlier this year. The NFR edition supports virtual and physical environments. It is available to Microsoft and VMware Certified Professionals. The NFR edition is time-limited for one year with a maximum of two sockets and two application-enabled servers. It may be renewed at no cost if the Microsoft or VMware Certified Professional proves that credentials have been renewed.
