announced a generation of COTS rugged data storage, now in its 12th generation.
The new COTS rugged RAID arrays are
twice the speed of the prior models with throughput to 5,400 MB/sec. and IOPS
to 742,000 and offer increased capacity to 432TB. These COTS rugged units
support both HDDs and SSDs for 8Gb FC and 6Gb SAS hosts.
The FlashDisk RF-2300 Series
includes a 2U high, 12-bay base unit with 3.5" drives and offers 12-bay
expansion shelves to 108 HDDs or SSDs and 24-bay expansion shelves with
2.5" drives to 156 HDDs or SSDs with 324TB maximum capacity.
The FlashDisk RF-3400 Series
includes a 3U high, 16-bay base unit with 3.5" drives and offers 16-bay
expansion shelves also with 3.5" drives to 144 HDDs or SSDs with 432TB
maximum capacity.
These FlashDisk COTS rugged disk arrays
include virtual storage, snapshots, mirroring, volume copy and automated
disk-to-disk backup. The current FlashDisk RV-2300 and FlashDisk RV-3400 disk
arrays continue to be offered at lower price and also offer GbE ports for iSCSI
environments.
The companion rugged FlashServer FS-1600
is designed to complement the FlashDisk storage and provide a single source for
both storage and servers.
"This 12th generation COTS rugged
data storage delivers the data rates demanded by many of today’s real-time
surveillance and reconnaissance data recorders with over 5GB/sec. reads and
3GB/sec. writes," explained Ted Gumer, the company’s VP Sales and Business
Development. "Our rugged storage and servers also provide extra security
and protection against dust, rain, shock and vibration at COTS prices which are
about half of full military standard costs."
The US Army, Navy and Air Force approved
FlashDisk units for field use with both HDDs and SSDs. They are deployed in
harsh environments worldwide in mobile HUMVEEs, surveillance aircraft and
stationary shelters. The front door is crafted of sturdy milled aluminum that
provides rigidity and structural integrity. It also houses a heavy-duty dust
filter to constrict particle flow and provide a moisture shield to protect
internal components. The LCD front panel is easily viewed by field personnel, is
EMI protected and uses long life pushbuttons. The door features a dust and
raindrop seal. The unit can be mounted to an optional rugged heavy-duty 1U tray
using five bolts secured in a triangulated pattern for strength, easier access
and superior crash-worthiness.
FlashDisk RF-2300 Series
prices start at $16,000 and are built to order with delivery in 4-8 weeks
