AC&NC Rolling Out Unified RAIDs
Delivering de-dupe, compression, snapshots and SSD performance

Corporation introduced its JetStor SAS
716U and JetStor SAS 724U RAID arrays to integrate and
simplify storage in mixed NAS and IP SAN environments.
The next-generation solutions support
both file-level and block-level data in single, centrally managed devices,
enabling even small businesses and remote offices to cost-effectively meet
storage needs from file access and email to storage pooling and
high-performance applications. The JetStor systems also can be provisioned with
SSDs to accelerate read/writes for data-intensive applications like transaction
processing and digital content delivery.
The platforms make storage
more efficient and secure with such features as compression, deduplication,
snapshots, thin provisioning, unified authentication, and simplified
management.
"The JetStor unified storage arrays
allow even modest-sized firms to afford the competitive advantages of NAS, SAN,
and cloud storage," said Gene Leyzarovich, president of AC&NC.
"They reduce capital and operating costs by eliminating the need to
procure, administer, maintain, and power separate devices for file and block
data. Our new arrays are a boon to companies that need to deliver services from
storage virtualization and virtual tape libraries to geospatial, medical, and
rich media applications economically, rapidly, and safely."
Simplifying the Data Center with
High-Speed Storage
Featuring cableless design, JetStor SAS
716U and 724U RAID arrays are engineered for continuous availability and
flexibility to provide shared storage to clients and servers in VMware, Citrix
Xen, Windows, Hyper-V, UNIX, Apple Macintosh or mixed environments. The solutions
are VMware certified.
JetStor SAS 716U systems feature 16 bays
for up to 64TB of storage in a 3U enclosure, six GbE ports using iSCSI or NFS/CIFS protocol host connections.
JetStor SAS 716U 10G
provides two 10GbE ports and two GbE ports.
JetStor SAS 724U devices deliver 24 bays
for up to 96TB of capacity in a 4U enclosure.
JetStor SAS 724U has six GbE ports using
iSCSI or NFS/CIFS protocol host connections, whereas the JetStor SAS 724U
10G features two 10GbE ports
and two GbE ports.
To address the largest data stores, the
JetStor unified storage arrays are scalable to 576TB by linking JBODs units to
them. The platforms can support up to five 24 bay JBODs or eight 16 bay JBODs.
The solutions reduce ownership costs
by
providing these capabilities:
- The JetStor GUI RAID manager management
and monitoring application allows the systems to be remotely configured and
proactively managed with automatic e-mail event notifications. Administrators
no longer need to learn and operate different systems for file and block
storage. - Block-level, in-line data deduplication
eliminates wasted disk space and avoids unnecessary disk writes. - Block-level compression conserves disk
space, reduces I/O pressures, and optimizes capacity for cloud deployments. - Thin provisioning enhances storage
efficiency while conserving energy and minimizing disk purchases. - Unified authentication enables
consistent account management for administrators and single sign-on by users. - Support for up to 100,000 snapshots
delivers data integrity and recovery.
AC&NC ensures a lifetime of 24/7
JetStor service. Subject-matter experts are standing by for on-demand phone
consultations on configuration and management. JetStor systems are backed by a
three-year warranty covering all components, including optional cross-shipment
of replacements.
"Tailored for small and medium sized companies
and the remote sites of enterprises, JetStor unified storage arrays offer
enterprise capabilities on a small business IT budget," Leyzarovich said.
"They make processing and storing ever increasing volumes of data easier
and more affordable."
