Power of EditShare Field Doubled
Up to 16TB, expansion unit with 16TB or LTO drive, SSDs and 10GbE
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 20, 2012 at 3:11 pmEditShare introduced its latest product upgrade at IBC in Amsterdam.
The EditShare Field 2 doubles the power of the extremely popular EditShare Field and demonstrates EditShare’s commitment to supporting small workgroups on the move.
Field 2 will provide users with up to 16TB of storage, a choice of 3.5′ or 2.5′ drives and the ability to add an expansion unit with a further 16TB of storage, or an LTO drive for backup and archiving. SSDs and 10GbE connectivity are also available, maximising performance for workgroups with bandwidth requirements.
Andy Liebman, EditShare CEO, said: ‘We are committed to supporting workgroups of all sizes, so Field 2 is an important part of EditShare’s ongoing product upgrades. Whilst the original Field was extremely popular, we knew more storage space and even greater performance was needed for the increasing demands placed on our users. Field 2 remains compact and portable making it the most powerful device of its kind on the market."
EditShare’s previous Field product has been used where portability mattered; news events, notably the Chilean miners saga, sporting events such as the Tour de France, Wimbledon and The Burghley Horse Trials, and most recently at the Miss World event in China.
"This compact server ensures those working in the field enjoy outstanding reliability and the functionality you’d associate with all EditShare products," said Liebman. "The fact it comes preloaded with Flow Media Management software and Ark, our backup and archiving product, makes the Field 2 unique and a complete workflow in a small package."
Scheduled for release in the last quarter of 2012, Field 2 was demonstrated at IBC Amsterdam.
EditShare’s products are designed to improve efficiency and workflow collaboration. They include video capture and playout servers, performance central shared storage, archiving and backup software, media asset management, and Lightworks – a three-platform (Windows/OS X/Linux) professional non-linear video editing application (NLE).
