Navigator From SAN Sentinel for NetApp in Addition to EMC
For audit, reporting and management of arrays
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 18, 2012 at 2:47 pmSAN Sentinel SAS announced the release of SAN Sentinel Navigator including NetApp, in addition to EMC Symmetrix, VMAX, VNX, CLARiiON and Celerra already available.
The company offers a heterogeneous audit solution generating and delivering reports based on live data combined with SAN Sentinel best practice knowledgebase. Moreover, Navigator, being agentless and non-intrusive, is simple to install, operate, and capable of generating results within 10 minutes of installation, in comparison to days and weeks with alternative solutions.
By gathering operational and management data from the storage array’s API’s, Navigator provides reliable information and consolidated reports on the totality of the heterogeneous arrays environment within the customer data centers, the identification of Single Point of Failures (SPOF), and smart capacity management by identifying within seconds available and reclaimable storage capacity.
Navigator enterprise software is licensed per audited storage array, and is available in either an ‘On Demand’ model (Charged per Report), a SaaS (annual license fees) model, or an ‘On Premise model’ (perpetual license).
"By supporting and integrating NetApp products, SAN Sentinel SAS is expending its offering to better respond to market demands, by supporting heterogeneous customer’s environments, and providing essential decision support and cost control information helping customers efficiently managing growth in a daily basis," says Jéronimo Munoz, VP Operation of SAN Sentinel.
Navigator solution is a fit to today’s enterprise demands for simple, high quality on-going management capabilities for their complex heterogeneous storage environments.
With the addition of NetApp product line support on top of Navigator existing EMC product line support, the solution covers 43% of the storage market, according to Gartner, and 78.2% of the NAS market, according to IDC.
