Atto Introduces 16Gb Family of FC Solutions

ATTO Technology, Inc. announced the launch of 16Gb/s FC solutions consisting of Celerity HBAs, FibreConnect switches and FastStream RAID storage controllers.

These products provide users the ability to create a infrastructure that delivers speed, capacity storage on multiple platforms.

The 16Gb/s family, along with ATTO’s portfolio of network and storage connectivity products, was showcased at IBC 2012 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, September 7 through September 11. ATTO products were also featured in over 45 partner demonstrations throughout the show.

Celerity 16Gb FC HBAs are based on the PCIe 3.0 technology to deliver the high bandwidth and low latency, as well as reliable and scalable connectivity with twice the maximum throughput of previous solutions.

They address the needs of workflows including capture, edit, content management and distribution with faster and more efficient data transfers featuring ATTO’s Advanced Data Streaming technology for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux environments, as well as high IOPS IT environments.

FibreConnect 1600 series of 16Gb FC switches are engineered to deliver reliable data transfer on a SAN – a critical component for applications such as video streaming and virtualized environments. When combined with Celerity 16Gb/s HBA’s, FibreConnect switches provide complete SAN connectivity with high-bandwidth, low latency and the low power consumption.

The FastStream 9000 is a 16Gb/s FC RAID Storage Controller that allows users to attach to low cost SAS/SATA JBOD storage creating a RAID protected, high-capacity and low latency solution. The controllers enable small to medium sized studios to incorporate a collaborative project environment for ingest, editing, and rendering high definition video, digital film and audio.

With the addition of Celerity HBAs and FibreConnect switches, users can incorporate a ‘pay-as-you-grow’ approach to supporting additional client connectivity. They are available in desktop or embeddable form factors.
