Gresham Extends Entreprise Distributape Support

announced it will extend Enterprise
DistribuTape
support for VTLs in its 10.3 release, due out in
4Q12, to include support for replicated tape volumes similar to what
is available in Symantec NetBackup.

EDT capability will allow Tivoli
Storage Manager users to access replicated volumes from a secondary
VTL on demand, automatically. No configuration will be required in
TSM to take advantage of replicated volumes and any virtual tape
library capable of creating mirrored, replicated volumes will be
supported.

Young, business unit director, commented: "We
are constantly looking for way to make TSM better. At a time when
many organizations are using virtual tape libraries for data
replication and e-vaulting, the need to be able access replicated
data on demand, with little to no disruption to normal operations is
key. EDT will give TSM users that capability in its 10.3 release."
