Myricom 10GBE Adapters Achieve Thunderbolt Technology Compatibility

Myricom, Inc. has completed Thunderbolt Technology compliance testing for its Myri-10G 10GbE network adapter cards with mLogic LLC, provider of innovative design and peripheral products for Apple and PC computer systems for content creation markets including film, video and broadcast.

The Thunderbolt interface available on new Macs enables data transfers at up to 10Gbps. By combining the mLink PCIe-to-Thunderbolt Expansion Chassis with Myricom’s Myri-10G PCIe 10GbE network adapters, users can interconnect Macs to enterprise-class 10GbE networks, achieving full bandwidth. These configurations can be used to interconnect multiple Macs, as well as to connect to storage sub-systems.

Myricom’s 10GbE network adapters achieve performance by leveraging a hardware PCIe add-in card platform coupled with high-performance Mac device drivers.

Myricom also offers adaptable value-added software packages that run on the network adapters. This hardware + software architecture provides customers networking performance with a broader application span and greater adaptability.
