BestCrypt Volume Encryption (€99.50) by Jetico

Privately-held and headquartered in the OtaniemiSciencePark in Helsinki, Finland, Jetico, Inc., in security software, has announced an update to BestCrypt Volume Encryption.

The native encryption software for disk volumes is now ready for Windows 8, including the ability to encrypt Storage Spaces – a feature coming in the new OS. BestCrypt Volume Encryption now also supports computers that boot according to UEFI specification.

Version 3.5 of BestCrypt Volume Encryption
offers the following added features:

• Support for Windows 8 – once this commercial release occurs, users can continue to rely on BestCrypt Volume Encryption without interruption
• Encrypt Windows 8 Storage Spaces – BestCrypt Volume Encryption, developed to encrypt any type of disk volume, now works with Storage Spaces (a new capability that can combine multiple HDDs into a single virtual drive) just as it would for a simple disk partition; users won’t need to know anything about complicated disk structures that form Storage Spaces
• Support for UEFI-based computers – allows encryption of boot/system volumes on computers with OSs loaded according to Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI); new computers with Windows 8 pre-installed will likely come with a UEFI bootloader
