Computer Media Technologies Reselling Proximal Data AutoCache

Virtual cache software

Proximal Data, Inc., a provider of server-side caching solutions designed for VMware environments, has signed a
reseller agreement with Computer Media Technologies (CMT), an IT solutions provider offering
data security, storage, virtualization, consolidation and
infrastructure management.

CMT’s offerings now include AutoCache , Proximal
Data’s fast virtual cache software that eliminates I/O bottlenecks in virtualized
servers to increase virtual machine (VM) density, efficiency and performance.

"Our customers are demanding more out of their VMware
infrastructures than e&ver before,
" said Dennis Mueller, VP of innovation
at CMT. "Proximal Data enables us to help our customers better manage
their storage I/O and increase the virtual computing density in their racks.
Its AutoCache software is unique in that it understands diverse I/O workloads
and automatically regulates storage I/O without additional tuning to improve
performance. In addition, Proximal Data’s philosophy to ‘do no harm’ and never
interfere with normal VMware performance and operations in any capacity is very
unique; other vendors cannot claim that.
"

"By partnering with CMT, we are working with a solutions
provider and systems integrator that is committed to providing high-quality
virtualization solutions and customer service,
" said Rory Bolt, CEO of
Proximal Data. "Through CMT, AutoCache will be offered along with
industry-leading products to help remove bottlenecks and improve storage
efficiency in enterprise and managed services infrastructures, including cloud
environments.
"

Proximal Data’s recently announced AutoCache software works within a VMware ESXi hypervisor and can increase VM density two to
three times without impacting IT operations or requiring agents in guest
operating systems. AutoCache places the hot I/O onto a PCIe flash card or SSD
to supply priority data traffic to all VMs. This increases VM
density and efficiency while minimizing system resource usage, enabling idle
CPUs to support more business applications. AutoCache is also integrated within
VMware management environments (vCenter , vSphere) and does not impact
processes such as vMotion.

Proximal Data exhibited at VMworld 2012.
