VCE Supports VMware vCloud Suite 5.1

Formed by Cisco and EMC with investments from VMware and Intel, VCE Company LLC, in converged cloud infrastructure systems, announced support for VMware, Inc.‘s new cloud solution – vCloud Suite 5.1 – in VCE Vblock Systems.

This provides customers and partners with the next generation of integrated cloud infrastructure for private, public and hybrid clouds in a pre-engineered, modular system that ensures scalable and predictable performance.

Vblock Systems are optimized for VMware cloud infrastructure, integrating it with technologies from Cisco and EMC in a single intelligent converged infrastructure system with support. VCE systems are designed to support virtualized mixed workload environments, mission-critical enterprises and custom and vertical applications, while enabling cloud-based computing models that provide business agility and lower operational costs.

vCloud Suite 5.1 further enables Vblock systems to form the foundation of a software-defined data center, providing a better way to implement, operate and deliver IT services and provide high levels of virtualization and application performance.

Vblock systems can support thousands of VMs and integrate compute, network and storage technologies with the capabilities of the new vCloud Suite 5.1, including:

• vSphere Enterprise Plus, the virtualization platform for building cloud infrastructures.
• vCloud Director 5.1, which enables virtual infrastructure resources to be delivered on-demand.
• vCenter Operations Management Suite which ensures optimum virtual and cloud resource usage and configuration compliance.
• vFabric Application Director which automates provisioning for applications.
• vCenter Site Recovery manager 5.1 for simple DR.
• vCloud Suite 5.1 is available on VCE Vblock Systems.
