Storage Start-Up Inktank Opened Office in Sunnyvale, CA

Inktank Storage, Inc., providing enterprise-level support for the Ceph open source distributed storage system, announced the opening of its branch office in Sunnyvale, CA.

This location is Inktank’s second office, with the company headquarters based in Los Angeles, CA.

Inktank employees in the Sunnyvale office will work together with their LA colleagues, as well as the worldwide Ceph developer community.

The future of storage, Ceph is a scalable, open source distributed storage system that is being embraced by enterprises, developers, and a growing number of cloud platforms and distributions.

By delivering object storage, block storage, and a POSIX-compatible file system in an unified platform that runs on commodity hardware, Ceph is helping organizations of all sizes to decrease their storage costs while auto-scaling to the exabyte level and beyond.

While the Ceph project dates back to 2004, Inktank is a start-up launched in May 2012 to provide professional support services around Ceph. In few months, the quickly expanding Inktank team had outgrown their headquarters and began looking for a second office location. With many Inktank customers and partners in the area, opening a branch in Sunnyvale was the next logical step for the startup.

Inktank is hiring at both locations in Los Angeles and Sunnyvale.
