Flagship
Solutions
Group
announced at the Safety
and
Security
Conference
that, in conjunction with IBM, they will build a Blade Storage
Solution Center (BSSC) at The University of Southern Mississippi ‘the first of its
kind’ National
Center for Spectator Sport Safety & Security (NCS4), a worldwide
interdisciplinary center specifically focused on research, education,
and outreach efforts in sport event security.
The purpose of the BSSC in this
location is to analyze and validate IBM technologies from an academic
perspective and to aggregate data from various Stadiums to establish
best practices across like venues. This is a combination of partners
as Flagship Solutions Group is a leader in IBM IOC technologies and
NCS4 is a leader in Stadium Security.
Earlier this year, Flagship was
selected as a 2012 Beacon Award Winner for their cloud computing
solution for the Miami Dolphins. Flagship implemented a ‘Smarter
Stadium’ Intelligent Operations Center, a cloud-based solution.
This goal is achieved by integrating physical and digital
infrastructure to provide a better fan experience focusing on premium
features and services. With a centralized integrated control panel,
it provides an enterprise view of stadium systems and departments and
aggregates digital and physical systems.
According to Mark Wyllie, CEO of
Flagship, "We look forward to this exciting partnership with
IBM and NCS4. It is an exciting opportunity to work with industry
leaders to meet the operational and technological needs of venue
operators and security personnel at sports venues."
The University is an outgrowth of a
grant initiative funded by the Mississippi Office of Homeland
Security and Mississippi Emergency Management Agency. Established in
2006, the capabilities of the Center are enhanced by its close links
with other Southern Miss academic and research centers as well as
with other institutions of higher learning, professional
associations, and corporate partners.
"We are pleased to partner
with Flagship Solutions Group, a leader in the area of Stadium
security," said director Lou Marciani, Ed. D. "Our
mission is to conduct innovative research, provide internationally
recognized academic programs, enhance training capabilities and
develop integrated security solutions and thus is a positive step in
achieving our goals."
