By Jean Jacques Maleval | August 13, 2012 at 2:52 pmSeagate Technology International, Scotts Valley, CA, has been assigned a patent (8,238,054) developed by Tae Young Kim, Yongin-si, South Korea, and Chang-Hwan Lee, Seoul, South Korea, for a "hard disk drive having desiccant member."
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A hard disk drive effectively removes internal humidity therefrom and thus improves the reliance and performance of the hard disk drive in high and increased humidity environments."
The patent application was filed on May 20, 2010 (12/783,682).
