AC&NC: JetStor SAS 764F Arrays
Up to 256TB in 4U/64 bays, supporting SSDs
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 9, 2012 at 3:00 pmAdvanced Computer & Network Corporation, provider of RAID storage solutions, introduced its JetStor SAS 764F RAID arrays to satisfy enterprise needs to store and deliver amounts of data quickly and safely.
The solutions support SSDs for I/O performance as well as high-speed SAS/SATA drives. Their four 8Gb/s FC host interfaces and four 6Gb/s SAS disk channel expanders deliver throughput to servers, while their 64 storage bays provide up to 256TB of storage in a single 4U chassis. The solutions raise the bar further by supporting 4TB drives, thereby increasing their capacity to 256TB.
"The JetStor 764F arrays are very timely because of the tremendous pressure on data centers to deliver enterprise-critical applications, cloud computing, and virtual desktops," said Gene Leyzarovich, president of AC&NC. "They’re for administrators who fight an uphill battle everyday to save and make available vast quantities of business data. And with their support for SSDs, they offer the cutting-edge speed and efficiency to serve as backup and archival targets and to deliver virtualized servers, databases, imaging systems, and video editing applications."
Massive Data Demands Massive Storage
The JetStor SAS 764F RAID systems address big data challenges by providing flexibility, robust levels of data protection, and management and configuration simplicity. Additionally, their scalability offers investment protection by anticipating relentless data growth.
All JetStor SAS 764F RAID arrays are engineered for non-stop operation. Their cableless design, dual hot-swappable power supplies with integrated turbo-cooling, and separate power connections ensure continuous availability of business data. They support nearly all RAID levels, allowing administrators to tailor configurations for their applications’ performance and protection requirements. Multiple drives can be designated as hot-spares, allowing the systems to move data transparently to a spare should an error be detected. Drives are also hot swappable with automatic rebuilding of data on new drives. Capacity can be increased and drives replaced while data remains in-service.
The JetStor 764F solutions feature new LSI 800MHz RAID-On-Chip Processor for fast parity calculation and I/O operations.
The JetStor SAS 764FD also offers dual-redundant active/active ALUA-compliant array controllers for system tolerance of any component failure.
All JetStor 764F arrays are VMware certified.
To sustain non-stop availability and performance, the solutions feature the browser-based RAID Manager management and monitoring application, enabling administrators to remotely configure and proactively manage all JetStor systems. The software automatically issues SNMP or SMTP e-mail event notifications of all system events.
Backed by its 19-year record of support, AC&NC ensures a lifetime of 24/7 JetStor service. Subject-matter experts are standing by for on-demand phone consultations on configuration and management. JetStor systems are backed by a three-year warranty covering all components, including optional cross-shipment of replacements.
"The JetStor 764Fs are faster, smarter, more flexible solutions to the persistent challenges of big data," Leyzarovich said. "Enterprises will always be saddled by growing troves of files and data-intensive applications, but thanks to our new arrays, they now have an effective response."
Customers of AC&NC include the large manufacturers, financial services firms, Internet companies, telecommunications and healthcare providers, educational institutions, government agencies, and the military.
