DataChambers Expands Managed Backup Service

DataChambers, LLC announced a further expansion of its managed backup services portfolio to include new support for businesses with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) software.

The new services are designed to help customers get the most out of their TSM investment. Backup specialists in the DataChambers Network Operations Center configure each client’s Tivoli infrastructure for protection and optimal results, whether information is saved to a server, workstation, laptop or other device connected to a company’s network.

DataChambers storage engineers provide around-the-clock monitoring to make certain backups are completed and correct any problems they uncover. Customers also have the option of replicating their encrypted backup files to a DataChambers bunkered SAN for added protection.

"Our objective is to help each organization achieve goals that likely drove the purchase of Tivoli in the first place," says Nicholas Kottyan, CEO of DataChambers. "We help our clients reduce data storage requirements, improve their use of storage virtualization, streamline management and protect valuable data from the moment it is saved."

To support demand for managed services, DataChambers recently added four new specialists to its Network Operations support team.

The increase in staffing and launch of new TSM services are part of an ongoing evolution of the DataChambers Managed Services portfolio. Most recently the company introduced a new ‘per node’ pricing model for its DataStor Managed Backup Services. Clients are able to take advantage of a flat rate for each network node, regardless of the amount of data protected. There are no limits on data size or any charges for overages.

In addition, the company is developing new cloud-based, ‘standby server’ solutions that leverage the company’s cloud computing and data protection expertise. Businesses will be able to restore data to servers on the DataChambers cloud infrastructure and resume operations after a crisis, regardless of the condition of their original hardware. Beta testing is expected to get underway later this year.
