Tributary Releases Storage Director 4.0

Tributary Systems, Inc. is releasing Storage director 4.0 with enhanced connectivity and security features atSHARE.

Tributary is an IBM OEM, solutions integrator and z development partner.
 
Version 4.0 of Storage director enables 8Gbps FC connectivity and adds support for the NPIV facility that allows multiple virtual devices to utilize a single physical port. Among new security features, 4.0 adds several levels and methods of password security to protect stored data.  
 
Tributary Systems is discussing Storage director 4.0 and its unified backup capabilities at the SHARE IBM Mainframe User Group Expo in Anaheim through August 8th.
 
"Storage director is a robust virtual backup solution for all IBM  platforms, and v4.0 adds new capabilities and enhancements," said Ed Ahl, director of Business Development for Tributary. "The total solution includes Storage director software on IBM x Servers, with IBM disk and tape technology, and IBM hardware support. With Storage director, z/OS customers can unify their backup infrastructure, sharing  backup/DR resources among all the environments running in their data centers."
