Xyratex With Five SVPs

Xyratex Ltd has expanded its executive team with the appointment of Todd Gresham, Doug Inamine, Luciano Marinaccio, Ed Prager and Ahmed Shihab as executive officers with immediate effect.

 Todd Gresham is SVP of Marketing, Sales and Field Support. He brings over 25 years of executive management experience in both publicly traded and privately held companies. Experience includes organizational leadership and development, interaction/communication as related to investor relations, global market strategies and implementation, executive sales leadership, private equity fund raising and marketing acumen. Prior to joining Xyratex, Gresham was president and CEO of nStor Technologies, Inc., a publicly held data storage systems provider. Prior to that, he founded Meritage Associates, a consultancy firm focused on the data storage, information management and network infrastructure markets. Meritage guided over 100 firms, including several Fortune 50 companies, in the areas of product strategy, market development, product definition, and capital acquisition. He served as VP of Global OEM and Channel Sales at EMC Corp. and was responsible for over $1 billion dollars in annual revenues. While with Data General‘s CLARiiON Storage Division, he held several positions including GM of AsiaPac Ops, and VP of WW Sales. Prior to CLARiiON, he held various executive positions with both Philips Laser Magnetics (LMSI), a division of Philips NV and StorageTek. Gresham currently serves on the board of directors for Glasshouse Technologies, is an advisor for Unitrends, and is on the National Advisory Council for Make-A-Wish Foundation.

 Doug Inamine is SVP, Human Resources. He has served as SVP and VP, Human Resources since he joined Xyratex in September 2006. Prior to that, he held several senior human resources positions for Fortune 500 technology companies – Cisco, Solectron (now Flextronics) and Seagate. He has over 20 years of global human resources experience including international assignments in Europe and Asia. Inamine holds a Bachelor of Science degree in managerial economics from the University of California at Davis.

 Luciano Marinaccio is SVP of Global Operations. He has served as SVP of Global Operations since 2009 and was part of the management team at the time of the MBO from IBM in 1994, and since that time has held various senior management positions including senior director and VP of Procurement. Prior to joining Xyratex, he held a number of Procurement positions within IBM over a period of six years. Marinaccio holds a Bachelor of Science degree in management sciences from Loughborough University.

 Ed Prager is SVP of R&D. He leads WW R&D. Prior to this role, he has held senior management roles in Business Management, Quality, Engineering Services and Globalization. He was a member of the team that led the 1994 management buy-out from IBM and, prior to that, held management positions in R&D and Product Management at IBM. He acted as Xyratex’s GM of Storage System business, GM of R&D in our HDD Capital Equipment business and UK Operations GM in Warranty and Repair business. In 1999 this business was sold to Teleplan and he acted as GM of EMEA Operations and IT at Teleplan until he left in 2000. He re-joined Xyratex in October 2007. Prior to that, he served as VP of R&D Projects of News International’s Digital Broadcast Software subsidiary NDS Ltd. Prager holds a Master of Arts degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, and he is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

 Ahmed Shihab is SVP, Business Line Management, with General Management responsibility for each of the business lines within the company as well as responsibility for developing new business lines. He has held a number of positions since joining the company in 2005, including VP of Strategic Technology, Director of Engineering and various business development positions. Prior to that, he founded Alcahest Limited in 2003, a U.K. based company specialising in network security and signal processing IP and products, providing consultancy and products to OEM providers, exiting the company in 2004 when it was sold. Shihab holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electronics and electrical engineering from the University of Southampton, U.K. He also serves as a director on the boards of certain of Xyratex’s subsidiaries.
