1.5TB per RDX Cartridge by Tandberg

Tandberg Data GmbH announced the addition of the 1.5TB RDX data cartridge to its portfolio of RDX data protection solutions for SMBs.

RDX technology allows users to store or backup their data onto rugged, removable RDX data cartridges, ensuring that their information is protected for instant availability, off-site safekeeping and transport.

"With this latest announcement, Tandberg Data once again advances RDX technology to meet the ever-growing storage requirements of customers who need reliable, affordable and simple data protection for their organisations," said Elisabeth Harth, global business unit director for Tandberg Data. "The 1.5TB RDX data cartridge, used in conjunction with AccuGuard, Tandberg Data’s powerful backup and deduplication software, permits users to store up to 30TB of compressed data on a single pocket-size cartridge."

RDX QuikStation customers will also benefit from the new cartridge capacity when they populate their disk libraries with 1.5TB RDX data cartridges, increasing the appliance’s native storage capacity from 8TB to 12TB. It delivers data protection and off-site DR in a multi-cartridge 2U configuration that integrates into a range of environments.
 
The 1.5TB RDX cartridge will be available in September 2012 through channel of distributor and reseller partners.  

All RDX media ship with a three-year advance replacement warranty.
