Edge Memory Brings Out 6Gb SATA Cache SSD

The Boost Cache SSD is an upgrade for users seeking the enhanced performance of an SSD, but reluctant to give up the storage capacity of their existing HDD. It works with the existing HDD to increase system performance without compromising the ability to store large amounts of data.

Users experience up to 50% faster boot times and substantial speed gains when browsing files and loading applications. As with all EDGE Boost SSDs, the Boost Cache features a LSI/SandForce controller, five-year warranty, and a suite of features designed to enhance efficiency and increase the lifespan of the SSD.

"While SSDs have continued to grow in popularity, we talk to many customers who are still hesitant to upgrade due to higher cost or capacity concerns," said Shane Taylor, channel sales manager at EDGE Memory. "We are excited to offer our customers a simple and affordable SSD upgrade that gives them the best of both worlds."

It is easy to install and requires no transferring of files or programs. Users connect it to their motherboard, install the provided Dataplex caching software and reboot.

The Dataplex software works in the background requiring no user maintenance or supervision. Frequently used data and applications are cached to the SSD automatically. Infrequently used data and applications remain on the original hard drive.

The Boost Cache SSD is available in 50GB and 100GB capacities through select channel partners. They are made in the U.S.A. and TAA compliant.

Note: It must be installed as a secondary drive to function properly and into a Windows system that can accept a secondary SATA storage drive.
