80% Q/Q Growth for Tintri VM-Aware Flash Storage

30 new customer accounts

Tintri, Inc., producer of purpose-built, VM-aware storage appliances, had a record-setting quarter in Q2 2012 with accelerating growth across multiple regions.

With quarter-over-quarter growth of more than 80%, the company added over thirty new customer accounts and saw numerous customers expand their existing deployments.

In addition, storage deployments were strong in the health care, financial services, and technology market segments.

The company added new customers such as Central Washington Hospital, Liongate Capital Management and F5 Networks, Inc.

It expanded its global presence by opening a new office in Japan to support its continued growth there.

The company also added new customers in China and South Africa.

Tintri also saw continued growing utilization of its storage appliances by customers. The average VM workload once again increased in Q2 to nearly 150 VMs per customer and over 30 customers were running more than 100 VMs on a single box. Additionally, three customers are now running more than 500 VMs on their appliances.

"Our considerable growth over the previous quarter exceeded even our own aggressive projections," said Kieran Harty, Tintri CEO. "We’re seeing an overwhelmingly positive reception from customers as we continue to evangelize the benefits of VM-aware storage. It’s increasingly clear that legacy storage solutions aren’t able to meet the demands of today’s virtualized environments. Tintri customers recognize the need for purpose-built storage, designed for virtualization from the ground up."

"Tintri is solving a big problem for IT organizations looking for a simple and cost effective alternative to traditional storage to eliminate storage-based obstacles and virtualizing more and faster," said Michael Piltoff, SVP Strategic Marketing at Champion Solutions Group, Inc. "Tintri’s VM-aware appliance enables us to not only offer a unique product to our existing customers but also bring this fresh concept to new accounts. We are excited to be partnering with Tintri to help customers get the most out of their VM-aware infrastructure."
