Carahsoft Partners With Nutanix

Carahsoft Technology Corp., a government IT solutions provider, announces the addition of Nutanix‘s Complete Cluster Appliance to Carahsoft’s GSA schedule, making the SAN-Free Datacenter platform for VMware virtualized workloads available to public sector agencies.

Nutanix’s solution collapses the conventional two-tiered datacenter design (storage and compute) down to one single scalable appliance, delivering a flash accelerated 2U datacenter, capable of hosting hundreds of virtualized workloads without the need for a SAN.

One single 2U enclosure replaces 20U of equipment, freeing up valuable rack space, lowering energy costs, all while improving application performance via Fusion-io, Inc. (FIO) server attached ioMemory. Nutanix Distributed File System (NDFS), the soul of Nutanix’s Complete Cluster, tethers performance solid state storage directly to enterprise applications while preserving centralized file storage.

Nutanix amplifies the power of Fusion-io in the realm of enterprise virtualization by combining Google-like performance, localized storage, and scale-out distributed redundancy via 10GbE top-of-rack switches. It ships with four industry-standard x86 servers bundled with VMware’s hypervisor in a 2U, 75-lb., SAN-Free server appliance.
