Womble Carlyle Sandridge and Rice Chooses Tintri
To support 220 virtual desktops
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 4, 2012 at 2:36 pmTintri, Inc. announced that Womble Carlyle Sandridge and Rice, LLP, a
national law firm, has deployed the Tintri VMstore appliance to
support more than 220 virtual desktops.
It chose Tintri for its VMware integration, superior performance
and management simplicity after evaluating both their existing legacy storage
solution and another converged solution with a flash read-cache.
Womble Carlyle, which has over 1,200 users in their network, uses VDI as their
remote access platform for access to applications while
outside of the network. Tintri’s VM-aware storage predictable performance and management console have reduced both the cost of storage for VDI deployment and the time required to manage it. The firm plans to expand the VDI project in the
near future.
"We wanted to provide a dedicated
storage system for our VDI environment and resolved to find a solution that
offered strong performance and an easy-to-use management console, but was also
tightly integrated with VMware," said Tim Washburn, systems engineer
at Womble Carlyle. "Tintri was far
and away the most impressive solution that we evaluated – its VM-aware storage
appliance and the level of integration with VMware vSphere and vCenter made it
the perfect fit for us. We also wanted to work with a vendor with world-class
support, and Tintri has exceeded our expectations, responding at all hours to
even minor questions."
"With Tintri, deploying and managing
our VDI environment is an incredibly straightforward, stress-free task,"
Washburn said. "Since day one when
we set this up, I haven’t had to do any management. From the storage
standpoint, I haven’t had any problems."
"We’re very pleased to be working
with Womble Carlyle, an innovative and well-respected law firm," said
Kieran Harty, Tintri CEO and co-founder. "Their success with Tintri underscores our agility in virtual
environments with a simple management console that meet the needs of both
virtual desktop and server deployments with no drop-off in performance. We look
forward to continuing to work with Womble Carlyle on expanding their VDI
initiative and on future virtualization projects."
