Former VP of Aruba Networks

Violin Memory, Inc. announced Jagdeep (JD) Singh as VP of worldwide customer advocacy.

With more than 20 years of customer service and support success at companies like Aruba Networks, Nortel Networks and 3Com, Singh will drive the growth and development of Violin’s global service and support strategy, an element in accelerating the adoption of flash-based storage systems for business critical applications.

"Flash is the future of the storage industry, fueled by virtualization, cloud technologies and big data analytics; and Violin Memory is poised to be a dominant player in what will be a disruptive transformation in this industry," said JD Singh. "I look forward to executing the company vision by building a world-class customer service and support foundation centrally focused on the success of our customer and partner base."

Singh comes to Violin with a background in designing and implementing service and support infrastructures that enable customer success and revenue growth. Most recently, he was VP of Global Field Advocacy for Aruba Networks, where he drove the success of the global sales engineering organization. Prior to that, he was Aruba’s VP of Global Customer Advocacy for nine years. In that position, he built and managed all aspects of Aruba’s Service and Support infrastructure, an $85 million business that received the Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA) STAR award for technology companies who display innovation and commitment to improving service and support.

"At Violin, we’ve always had a customer-first philosophy, and we’re continuously striving to deliver exceptional service and support to all of our end users around the world," said Don Basile, CEO of Violin Memory. "Singh brings decades of strategic and innovative customer advocacy experience to Violin. He will be instrumental in expanding and cultivating new and existing customer and partner relationships."

Before joining Aruba, Singh served as the senior director of Global Customer Advocacy at Nortel Networks, where he led a worldwide customer service organization of more than 500 professionals for Nortel’s Content Delivery Business Unit. He also held positions at 3Com, Auspex Systems and Tandem Computers.
