A seasoned storage industry veteran, Symons will be responsible for developing the long-term corporate and market strategy as the company continues its trajectory, especially in the area of hybrid unified storage.
"George brings a wealth of experience and strategic vision to Nexsan," said Philip Black, CEO, Nexsan. "He will further strengthen our executive team by helping to align our product road map with customer requirements, enhancing strategic partnerships and analyzing market opportunities. Reporting to Black, Symons will be responsible for the company’s planning, corporate direction on innovation and strategic partner relationships.
He has held successive leadership positions in a number of storage vendor organizations. Prior to joining Nexsan, he was chief strategy officer at Solix Technologies. He has also served as COO for X-IO/Xiotech, CEO for Evostor Inc., CEO for Yosemite Technologies, CTO, Information Management at EMC Corporation, and CTO at Legato Systems, Inc.
Symons holds bachelor degrees from the University of California, San Diego and an MBA from UCLA.
