eFolder Public Cloud Service for Backup and DR Services

eFolder, Inc., supplier of cloud data protection services for the IT channel, announced the availability of the eFolder Cloud for AppAssure at the Dell Storage Forum in Boston.

It is a service that replicates AppAssure bare metal backup images to the eFolder Cloud and delivers multiple DR options for partners and clients.

For MSPs, solution providers, and VARs looking to backup AppAssure images to the cloud, eFolder supplies a wholesale, public cloud replication service that combines Dell AppAssure software with eFolder’s petabyte-scale storage cloud, proactive data integrity protection technologies, and emergency in-the-cloud virtualization service capabilities.

Jointly developed with Dell AppAssure, the eFolder Cloud for AppAssure leverages the capabilities of the recently launched version 5 of AppAssure, including WAN-optimized replication, deduplication, and comprehensive encryption.

It allows partners to replicate their AppAssure images to a cloud environment. Backup images are deduplicated, replicated, encrypted, and protected in the eFolder Storage Cloud, allowing partners to deliver managed data backup and recovery services to their clients at any scale.

The company helps partners prepare for any eventuality with multiple DR options, including image download, overnight drive shipment, or virtualized recovery in the eFolder Continuity Cloud enabling the recovery of servers in the cloud on an emergency or as-needed basis.

MSPs can also pay to obtain dedicated nodes in the eFolder Continuity Cloud to provide instant offsite virtualization for those clients that require tighter in-the-cloud recovery times.

The eFolder Cloud for AppAssure is available to new and existing eFolder partners and delivers software and service components required, including access to competitive, wholesale AppAssure software licensing; block storage capacity in the eFolder Storage Cloud; and multiple recovery options, supported by eFolder’s partner support organization.

The AppAssure V5 is also managed by the eFolder Partner Portal, which delivers global reporting, management, alerting, and billing automation for all AppAssure cores deployed by a partner.
