VeloBit Accelerates Applications “by 20x” at Masergy Communications

VeloBit, Inc., a provider of
performance SSD caching software, announced that its HyperCache has
helped Masergy Communications, Inc., a network services provider, to accelerate the company’s network performance
analysis application by 20x without changing its existing IT infrastructure.

The engineering team at Masergy Communications evaluated multiple
options to scale the company’s network management application to keep up with
the growth of the business. HyperCache combines
multiple performance-enhancing technologies in a software
solution which allowed Massergy to accelerate their application without modifying
the application or related hardware.

VeloBit combined RAM caching, SSD caching, and compression in one
solution that uses available hardware resources more efficiently. It
compressed cached data by 10x, which increased the effective cache size. As a
result more data could be served from cache, which increased application
performance and lowered the I/O load to primary storage. Sample application
processing times were reduced from 2 minutes to 6 seconds, a 20 times increase
in application performance.
