Sonian Got $13.6 Million in Series C

Sonian, Inc. has received a total of $28.2 million in three rounds of financial funding since its inception in 2006:

• $5.6 million in 2009,
• $9 million in 2011, and
• $13.6 million last May 2012

The start-up, based in Newton, MA and in Silverstone, Northamptonshire, UK, was founded by CTO Greg Arnette and offers SaaS hosted archive solution with grid computing infrastructure technologies.

It acquired Webroot Software’s email archiving business in 2012 for an undisclosed amount and claims over 8,000 customers.
