CloudAlly Unleashes Online Daily Backup for Amazon DynamoDB NoSQL

To unlimited S3 secure storage, $17/mo. for each 1GB

CloudAlly, provider of cloud to cloud backup and recovery services, launches an automated online daily backup service for Amazon DynamoDB NoSQL database to unlimited Amazon S3 secure storage.

Amazon DynamoDB is a fully managed NoSQL database service that provides fast and predictable performance with scalability. The AWS Management Console allows admins to create new DynamoDB database tables or scale a table’s request capacity.

Amazon’s built-in redundancy and failover architecture guarantees data durability within the Amazon data centers, but does not provide the backup and recovery features needed to restore DynamoDB tables in the event of accidental or malicious data loss.

CloudAlly bridges the gap by providing automated daily backups of all DynamoDB tables to unlimited Amazon S3 secure storage enabling customers to export or restore tables from any point in time. In addition to DynamoDB, CloudAlly customers can also activate backups for AWS SimpleDB, Salesforce, Google Apps, Gmail and Yahoo! Mail.

"As a hosted service running on solid-state drive (SSD) technology, DynamoDB provides a highly-available, reliable and scalable NoSQL solution with almost zero administration overhead, but lacks critical backup and recovery capabilities," explains Murray Moceri, marketing director for CloudAlly. "Our cloud-based DynamoDB backup provides the missing link by giving developers the ability to easily activate daily backups for all DynamoDB tables, and then export or restore those tables whenever needed."

CloudAlly is built on Amazon’s AWS Platform and all data is encrypted and stored in Amazon S3 storage. Customers can activate automated daily backups for DynamoDB with a few clicks once they’ve activated their CloudAlly account.

It has been tested and verified secure by Amazon Web Services, Salesforce.com, and Google Apps, and is available in the Salesforce AppExchange, Google Apps Marketplace, or directly from the company’s website.

Pricing discounts are available to qualified Academic and Non-Profit Organizations.
