From Biwin, 2.5-Inch 6Gb SATA SSDs

50GB to 400GB, LSI/SandForce controller

Biwin America, Inc. announced the NuvoDrive PX enterprise 2.5-inch SATA III 6Gbps SSD that supports up to 85,000 random write IOPS and features data loss protection in the event of power failure.

It is based on the LSI SandForce SF-2582 Flash Storage Processor, which packs the vanguard of enterprise reliability features such as global wear leveling, NCQ support, SMART commands support, and an ECC engine capable of correcting up to 55 bits per 512-byte sector.

NuvoDrive PX uses synchronous MLC NAND flash and can also be built to order with eMLC or SLC NAND. This SSD is optimized for endurance and performance, and is therefore configured with 28% overprovisioning (OP) as a default. OP can be factory set to 7% for OEM customers on request.

NuvoDrive PX is sampling now to OEMs in 50GB, 100GB, 200GB and 400GB capacities, and will be in mass production in Q3.

Biwin will showcase the NuvoDrive PX at Computex Taipei, June 5-9 in Nangang Hall.

"Biwin’s new NuvoDrive PX is the ultimate high reliability enterprise SATA III SSD. It is designed from the ground up for maximum reliability, endurance and performance with enterprise workloads," said Joe James, VP of WW Marketing, Biwin America.

The company has shipped over 100 million flash products to date.
