Goldfarb LLP is investigating whether the board of directors of NetApp, Inc. violated shareholder protection laws by taking part in a sweeping internet-surveillance system being built by the Syrian regime of President Bashar al-Assad, prompting an investigation by U.S. regulators.

"If the allegations prove accurate, the company may be subject to extensive penalties for violating U.S. export control laws," securities lawyer Hamilton Lindley said. "Our proposed shareholder lawsuit will seek to ensure that strong controls are placed to correct improper behavior and to improve the company’s value for investors."
