They are designed to simplify networking infrastructures through technologies and solutions.
Specifically, they are designed to:
- Simplify network architectures and enables cloud computing by delivering Brocade virtual cluster switching (VCS) fabric technology
- Offer 10GbE data center LAN ports and native FC ports in a fixed port switch configuration
- Provide performance and low latency through wire-speed ports with 600 nanosecond port-to-port latency and hardware-based Inter-Switch Link (ISL) trunking
- Provide Ethernet storage connectivity for FCoE, iSCSI, and NAS
- Helping to protect existing investments by bridging FC SANs and Ethernet fabrics
- Create scale-out Ethernet fabrics for virtualized data centers
- Simplify management by maintaining network policies as VMs move throughout the data center with Automatic Migration of Port Profiles (AMPP)
- Provide dynamic configuration and support secure communication to VMware vCenter via Brocade VM-aware network automation
