OpSource Teamed With Zadara Storage
To deliver on-demand virtual private storage arrays
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 21, 2012 at 2:33 pmOpSource, Inc., Dimension Data’s wholly-owned enterprise cloud and managed hosting business, thas teamed with Zadara Storage, Inc., a provider of enterprise storage in the public cloud, to deliver on-demand Virtual Private Storage Arrays (VPSAs) to businesses.
Supported by Zadara’s software-only CloudFabric Architecture, enterprise public cloud users and users of OpSource’s Managed Hosting Environment now have the option to migrate mission-critical applications to the public cloud while still maintaining a high level of performance.
Previously, if an application had high operational requirements, IT managers were forced to build a hybrid cloud environment with equipment on-premise. To make changes or adjustments required purchasing or reconfiguring physical equipment, a process that might take days or weeks to accomplish, and typically necessitated a long-term contractual commitment. By utilizing on-demand VPSAs, IT managers can now configure virtual storage arrays to their exact specifications, and because VPSAs are housed in a virtualized environment, users experience resiliency and flexibility.
"Public cloud users who create a VPSA with Zadara experience a true, single-tenant server environment, ensuring the high performance and high availability they require does not vary over time," said Mark Spowart, CEO of Zadara. "OpSource users are also able to utilize Microsoft Failover Cluster in the cloud natively due to OpSource’s architecture, resulting in unmatched ease of use in migrating existing IT applications to the cloud."
By dedicating elements of the VPSA specifically to a single tenant, users experience the privacy and controls they’re accustomed to in arrays in a virtualized environment and at a multi-tenant price. Users can leverage VPSAs for a variety of IT needs, including maximizing database performance, managing volume sizing and disaster recovery.
"Enterprises choose OpSource for the flexibility, performance and scale-on-demand features that make cloud computing a core enabler of their business," said Treb Ryan, CEO and co-founder of OpSource. "By integrating with Zadara, we are able to extend even more value and options to SaaS ISVs and other enterprises with demanding applications to centralize their cloud resources and simplify management."
Zadara VPSAs are available to enterprises in the OpSource cloud.
